Andriy Lunin set to face parent club Real Madrid

Three Real Madrid loanees – including goalkeeper Andriy Lunin – could face their parent club this weekend with Real Valladolid.

As Marca outline, the Ukrainian goalkeeper alongside Javi Sanchez and Jorge de Frutos have no clauses in their loan agreements to stop them facing Los Blancos.

None of the players participated in Valladolid’s opening day win at Real Betis although Lunin was an unused substitute, with Jordi Masip preferred as goalkeeper.

The Ukrainian made just four La Liga appearances on loan at Leganes last campaign, but it had been thought he could be afforded more opportunities next season.

The two clubs share a strong relationship at boardroom level with Valladolid headed by former Madrid striker Ronaldo Nazario, a close friend of his Los Blanos counterpart Florentino Perez.

Lunin joined Los Blancos last summer in an €8m deal from Zorya but was never likely to be involved in first-team action following the arrival of Thibaut Courtois to compete with Keylor Navas and Luca Zidane.
