Record number of La Liga season ticket holders

There are a record number of season ticket holders in La Liga with the 600,000 barrier broken for the first time, as outlined by Marca.

The 20 clubs between them have 610,751 season ticket holders this campaign as opposed to 595,844 from last season – an increase of almost 15,000 fans.

Of all the teams, 10 have surpassed the numbers of subscribers last season and four have done so with a new club record: Alaves, Getafe, Levante and Real Sociedad.

Of the rest of the team, seven clubs have reached exactly the same number as they had last season as that is the maximum number set by those precise clubs.

Espanyol and Real Valladolid have seen their numbers fall but their application process remains open for further renewals, meaning that the overall number is still likely to rise, while Osasuna’s numbers have been reduced due to renovation works at El Sadar.

Barcelona top the list with 85,000 season ticket holders with Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Real Betis and Athletic Club Bilbao completing the top five.
