Real Madrid target Christian Eriksen to remain at Tottenham

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen will not be joining Real Madrid this summer.

According to reports in UK newspaper the Daily Mirror, the Danish international has rejected Spurs' offer of a new contract, and will now leave on a free transfer in June 2020.

The 27-year old has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and Real Madrid, with the Spanish side still able to sign him this summer to due the La Liga transfer window remaining open until September 2nd.

However Zinedine Zidane's side have reportedly not met Tottenham's valuation of the former Ajax player – reported to be around €100m – and will now wait 12 months and sign him on a free.

Eriksen has appeared in both of Tottenham's Premier League games at the start of the 2019-20 season, however manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that his future remains undecided.
