Real Sociedad have released goal keeper Geronimo Rulli from pre-season to complete a medical at Montpellier.
The Basque club announced the 27-year old had been left out of the squad for their final pre-season game at home to local neighbours Eibar.
Rulli is expected to complete his medical and agree personal terms with the Ligue 1 side in the next 24 hours, with a deal set to be announced by Michel Der Zakarian's side early next week.
Rulli joined Real Sociedad in 2014, and was first choice for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons under manager Eusebio Sancristan, however he fell out of favour last season, with first team duties shared with Miguel Angel Moya.
The competition for places increased further with the summer signing of Alex Remiro from Athletic Bilbao, with manager Imanol Alguacil set to install him as No.1 in 2019-20.
