Luka Modric remaining at Real Madrid

Luka Modric will remain at Real Madrid despite reports linking him with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, report Marca.

A report in Diario Sport earlier this week claimed that PSG will accept a transfer fee of €120m for Neymar, who would theoretically sign a five-year contract at Los Blancos, while Luka Modric will be included in the deal.

Milan were also linked with a move earlier this summer by Marca while city rivals Inter went through a protracted transfer saga last year in their attempt to sign Modric but a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu now looks to be dead in the water.

There has been somewhat of a squad overhaul at Madrid this summer after a hugely disappointing campaign but no first-team starter from last season has yet departed.

A report in Marca last month claimed Modric was set to pen a new contract at Los Blancos to rule out an exit once and for all, but no official confirmation of this has materialised.

However, the Croatian midfielder has two years remaining on his current contract in the Spanish capital and reportedly does not want to exit.

It follows a report earlier this month in Cadena Cope which claimed Zinedine Zidane has personally informed the midfielder that he wants to be able to call on the Croatian beyond this summer.
