Everton end interest in Celta Vigo’s Stanislav Lobotka

Stanislav Lobotka looks set to stay at Celta Vigo this season after Everton discontinued their interest in the player, report https://www.marca.com/futbol/celta/2019/08/05/5d483fa0268e3ef41c8b457e.html.

The Slovakian international has been routinely linked with a move away from the Galician club but the Merseyside team were said to be the only club pursuing a deal, before pulling out.

The reports adds: “Lobotka and his representative have done everything possible to go to a team that offered a more ambitious sports project and also to be paid a higher salary.”

The 24-year-old has a €50m release clause in his contract with the Galician club while Napoli reportedly had a €35m bid rejected last summer.

Lobotka joined Celta in 2017 from Danish club Nordsjaelland in a reported €4m deal but found opportunities more limited last season, not helped by an ankle injury.

Italian and French teams have been linked with the central midfielder over the past 12 months but no move has ever materialised, with Celta unwilling to lose the player on the cheap and not negotiating a structured payments arrangement.
