Liverpool sign goalkeeper Adrian after West Ham release

Liverpool have signed former West Ham goalkeeper Adrian to replace the outgoing Simon Mignolet, the club have confirmed.

The 32-year-old native of Andalusia was available on a free transfer having been released by the Hammers during the summer and had been training in Spain in recent months.

Adrian amassed 150 appearances for the East London club across six seasons after joining from his boyhood Real Betis in 2013.

“I’m feeling really happy; really happy to be here and to work in this great club,” Adrian told Liverpool club media after the announcement.

“I'm very ambitious, I come here to try to win everything, to try to push Ali from the first minute and to make us better.

“Obviously I want to win titles. I come here to fight for all the competitions.

“We have many competitions ahead – we're going to fight for it and try to get them.”

The goalkeeper has never been capped at international level for Spain but was involved in national team squads whilst representing West Ham.
