FC Barcelona have confirmed the signing of defender Junior Firpo from Real Betis.
The defending La Liga champions have been linked with a move for the 22-year old left back throughout the summer, and they have now finalised the move with the Spanish U21 international signing a five-year deal.
Real Betis have previously rebuffed the Catalan side's previous offers, however they have now accepted a deal with a €17m payment up front, with a further €8m in add ons inserted into his contract.
Valverde has been open on the subject of signing a new left back to provide cover for Jordi Alba, and Firpo is expected to go straight into pre-season squad for games against Arsenal and Napoli.
