FC Barcelona are still considering selling Philippe Coutinho, as they look to balance their finances.
According to reports in Diario AS, the defending La Liga champions are looking into the possibility of selling for the former Liverpool man before the start of the new campaign, following a heavy summer of spending.
So far, Ernesto Valverde's side havve laid out €237m on incomings transfers, with Antoine Griezmann, Frenkie De Jong, Neto, Emerson and Marc Cucurella all coming in – with the latter two remaining at Real Betis on a part ownership deal and joining Getafe on loan.
However the they have only recouped €146 on players leaving the club, with Jasper Cillessen, Malcom, Paco Alcacer, Andre Gomes, Denis Suarez, Marc Cardona and Sergi Palencia heading for the exit door.
That leaves a shortfall in the region of €90m, which would be covered by Coutinho's sale, with extra remaining for further moves in the market.
The Catalan side remain in the market for a move to bring Neymar back to the club, but so far Paris Saint-Germain have rebuffed their efforts – including a player-plus-cash deal involving Coutinho.
Valverde is also keen on signing a new left back – with reports circulating that Junior Firpo is still on the club's radar – but the former Athletic Bilbao boss will have to raise funds before he can make a move for the Real Betis defender.
