Kylian Mbappe calls on Neymar to stay at Paris Saint-Germain

Kylian Mbappe wants Brazilian international Neymar to remain at Paris Saint-Germain for the 2019-20 season.

Neymar has been widely linked with a return to FC Barcelona this summer, after reportedly growing disillusioned with life at the Ligue 1 champions at the end of last season.

However his strike partner is determined to convince the 28-year old to stay in France, as Thomas Tuchel's side look to defend their domestic titles.

"I want him to stay and I have told him what I think about the situation, Mbappe told an open press conference at PSG's pre-season training camp.

"For me it is very clear. I want him to stay at the club and he is a very important player here.."

Neymar, who missed the 2019 Copa America tournament due to injury missed the start of PSG's pre-season campaign, however he has impressed on his return according to the French international.

"Neymar has come back into training and he is is his usual self, and showing plenty of quality."

Tuchel echoed Mbappe's comments on Neymar, adding that the former FC Barcelona man had looked sharp in training and was looking forward to the season ahead in the French capital.

Reports continue to circulate regarding Neymar heading back to Catalonia, however Ernesto Valverde's side have cooled their interest in recent days, with La Liga due to kick off again on August 16.
