Kevin-Prince Boateng set for Fiorentina after Barcelona exit

Former Barcelona forward Kevin-Prince Boateng is set to join Fiorentina from fellow Serie A club Sassuolo, say reports.

The Ghanaian forward joined the Catalan giants on a loan deal until the end of the campaign in January while the Spanish champions held the €8m clause to sign the player permanently.

However, the club did not take up the option to sign the player – who El Mundo Deportivo outline is now set to join Fiorentina, having rejected the chance to join Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.

Boateng featured in just four matches for the Blaugrana and played a total of 303 minutes but failed to make an impact and was largely an unused substitute throughout his stint at the Camp Nou.

The 32-year-old joined the Italian side from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer and had scored five goals in 15 appearances for the club before his January move to the Catalan capital.

Boateng spent the 2016/17 campaign in La Liga, netting 10 goals in 25 starts for Las Palmas before continuing his career elsewhere.
