Paul Pogba’s brother Mathias hopeful on Madrid move

Real Madrid’s pursuit of Paul Pogba may be helped by his brother Mathias aiming to sign for a club based in the Spanish capital, say Diario AS.

28-year-old Mathias – capped five times by the Guinean national team – has played for a number of clubs across European football and was most recently at French club Tours but is now a free agent.

The fresh report now claims there is hope he will sign for for Manchego Ciudad Real CD, who have offered the player a contract ahead of the new campaign.

The report adds that “Mathias intends to return to Spain, where both he and his other brother Florentin (28) spent the happiest years of their professional career at Celta Vigo’s B team.”

Florentin – a defender – is currently playing in the United States with Atlanta United having been on trial with Spanish second tier side Elche in January.

Mathias is said to be holding out on agreeing a move to Manchego Ciudad Real CD because he is hopeful of joining a club closer to the Spanish capital.

Madrid are said to be intent on signing Paul from Manchester United but have been priced out of a deal so far this summer.
