Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of highly-rated teenage midfielder Xavi Simons from Barcelona, it has been confirmed.
Simons is a Dutch youth international and his agent is Mino Raiola, with discussions between the Catalan giants and the club’s representatives breaking down in recent weeks.
He has penned a three-year contract in the French capital and is set to earn in the region of €200k for the first year of his deal - ‘an unusually high amount’, according to El Mundo Deportivo.
The midfielder was part of the club’s Juvenil B side but discussions over a new deal broke down with the player and club apart in their valuations.
Simons is the latest in a long line of talented Barcelona youth players to leave the club as a teenager.
