Athletic Bilbao midfielder Raul Garcia has committed himself to the club until 2021.
In an announcement via the Basque club's social media channels, the former Spanish international has confirmed his decision to extend his current deal, which expires in June 2020, for a further year.
Garcia, 33, has made 133 La Liga appearances for the club following his 2015 move from Atletico Madrid, and he has also removed the €40m release clause from his contract.
"This was an ideal time to make the announcement, before we leave for pre season training in Germany.
"I wanted to demonstrate my commitment to the club, and that has motivated the new contract and the clause removal.
"I think this is a good deal for both parties.
"The club has done so much for me, and I want to continue to repay them with hard work in the future."
Garcia had been linked with an exit from San Mames, after manager Gaizka Garitano allowed fellow veterans Mikel Rico, Markel Susaeta and Ander Iturraspe leave on free transfers after their contracts expired in June.
