Zinedine Zidane confirms Gareth Bale exit plans

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has confirmed the club are trying to sell Gareth Bale.

The Welsh international has been linked with a move away from the club, following Zidane's return to the club in March, and the former World Cup winner has no provided an update on the situation.

"Gareth Bale was left out of the match day squad (to face Bayern Munich in a pre season friendly), because the club are negotiating his sale.

"Nothing is certain as yet, but if he were to go tomorrow, that would be suitable.

"This is not a personal decision against Bale, but as manager I have to make decisions.

"These decisions are made by the coach, and Gareth knows the situation."

Bale himself has consistently stated that he wants to remain in the Spanish capital, with three years still to run on his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, however Los Blancos appear adamant to sell him.

His annual salary of over €20m per year, and an asking price in the region of €100m means that there are few clubs with the ability to buy the former Tottenham man.
