Enzo Zidane joins Portuguese club Aves

Enzo Zidane, son of Zinedine, has completed his move to Portuguese club Desportivo das Aves, the club have confirmed.

The 24-year-old began talks several weeks ago with the club, based in northern Portugal, having previously been linked to their rivals Vitoria de Guimaraes.

The central midfielder made 34 appearances on loan last season at Rayo Majadahonda in Spain’s second division but was unable to prevent their relegation to the third tier.

Enzo has now been released from Swiss club Lausanne, who held his contract, and he has now joined the club who finished 14th in Portugal’s top flight last season.

The midfielder started his career at Real Madrid and had a stint at Alaves, while his brother Luca – a goalkeeper – has joined Racing Santander on loan from Madrid.
