Eden Hazard wants No.23 shirt at Real Madrid

Eden Hazard has requested the No.23 shirt at Real Madrid according to reports in Marca this weekend.

Hazard will not be taking over the coveted No.10 jersey, as that is currently occupied by Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, however the Belgian international is happy with No.23.

The report states that the former Chelsea man, who wore No.10 at Stamford Bridge, will take over Sergio Reguilon's number from 2018-19, with the left back moving to Sevilla on a season-long loan.

The shirt is connected with Real Madrid icon David Beckham, who wore it for the club between 2003 and 2007, following his move from Manchester United, however Hazard has another reason for selecting it.

The 28-year old is an avid basketball fan, and wants to wear the number wore by Michael Jordan LeBron James, for the Chicago Bulls and the LA Lakers respectively.

Hazard had been linked with following in the footsteps of Raul and Cristiano Ronaldo by wearing the No.7 shirt, following his arrival, however with Mariano Diaz now unlikely to leave this summer, he will start with No.23.
