Arsenal are ‘best placed’ to sign Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos this summer, according to a fresh report in Marca.
It follows a report in Mucho Deporte which claimed the Spain international, who starred in this summer’s European Under-21 championship victory for his nation, should come to a decision on his future ‘within days’.
It is claimed that the central midfielder is ‘very receptive’ to a return to Betis for the season while he also has a ‘very juicy’ proposition from Tottenham.
It is claimed that Madrid will only be willing to sanction a season-long loan exit for the midfielder and this increases the likelihood that the Seville-based club could be successful in an approach.
Milan and Sevilla - city rivals of Betis, where Ceballos played as a child - have also been linked to the player, who has repeatedly insists he wants regular football next season.
Ceballos joined Madrid from Betis for €16m in 2017 but has started just 17 times in La Liga and just twice in the Champions League and has often appeared to be a fringe figure.
The Spain international started and scored in March’s 3-2 victory over Huesca – his first home goal for the club – but was selected just once more in the 10 matches since.
Madrid have spent over €300m on five new signings this summer and are said to be pursuing a deal for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
