Former Villarreal boss Luis Garcia returns to China

Chinese Super League club Beijing Renhe have appointed Luis Garcia Plaza, six months after his dismissal from Villarreal.

Garcia Plaza was brought into the Estadio Ceramica during December having previously been at the helm of a host of Spanish clubs including Elche, Levante and Getafe.

However, he lasted just seven weeks at the Yellow Submarine after winning just one match during that time – wish his final game overseeing a 3-0 loss against local rivals Valencia.

The Spaniard led Beijing Renhe to their first ever promotion to the top-flight two years ago and has now been called back to save them from relegation, as outlined by Marca.

He is the second Spanish boss to be appointed in China this month following Rafa Benitez taking over at Dalian Yifang last week after leaving Newcastle United.
