Real Valladolid have confirmed the loan signing of Chievo defender Federico Barba from Serie A side Chievo.
The 25-year old returns to Spain, after playing for Sporting Gijon in the 2017-18 season, after agreeing to head to the Estadio Jose Zorrillo for the full 2019-20 La Liga campaign.
He was a regular for Chievo last season, making 30 appearances in Serie A action, and he can operate at both full back and in central defence for Sergio Gonzalez's side.
Real Valladolid have been in the transfer market so far, ahead of the new season, with Barba their fourth signing, and the third to come into the club on a loan deal.
Midfielder Pablo Hervas has joined from fellow La Liga side Eibar for a €1m fee, whilst Gonzalez has also brought in Everton striker Sandro Ramirez and Jorge de Frutos on season-long loans, from Everton and Real Madrid respectively.
