Bayern turn to Roca after missing out on Rodri

Bayern Munich are weighing up a move for Espanyol midfielder Marc Roca after Rodri joined Manchester City from Atletico Madrid.

It was reported on Wednesday that City had triggered Rodri’s exit clause and AS cites reports from German publication Kicker that say Bayern’s alternative option also plays in LaLiga.

Roca is touted as the player identified as the Bavarians’ Coach, Niko Kovac, is keen to see his midfield bolstered this summer but if Roca did make the switch, he would be back-up to Thiago Alcantara, Javi Martinez, Joshua Kimmich and Corentin Tolisso.

The 22-year-old’s release clause is set at €40m and that wouldn’t be a stumbling block for Bayern, though Roca has reportedly said he is not actively seeking a move away from the RCDE Stadium.
