Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Sevilla midfielder Pablo Sarabia in an €20m deal, it has been https://www.marca.com/futbol/sevilla/2019/07/02/5d0e1d47268e3e66418b45a4.html.

The midfielder has put pen to paper a five-year deal in the French capital worth €4m annually and becomes the latest player to exit the Andalusian club – who are undergoing a summer revamp.

The 27-year-old netted 22 goals and provided 16 assists this season for the Andalusian club and has been a model of consistency since joining from Getafe in a €1m deal back in 2016.

“I am finishing a very happy stage of my career, I have really enjoyed my time at Sevilla,” Sarabia told reporters, as cited by the club’s official website.

“The fans have given me a lot, I only have words of thanks for them.”

The player, who had an €18m release clause, had previously been linked with a move to Chelsea, who are under a transfer ban, and Italian club Roma.

This follows on from a report in Diario AS that PSG are willing to pay €2m more than the player’s release clause as a sign of goodwill and to hasten the move.

The Madrid-native started his career at Real Madrid and even made a Copa del Rey appearance in the first-team before joining Getafe in 2011.

In January, a report in Diario AS cited Sevilla’s ‘anxiety’ over the player’s release clause, with the player’s deal at Los Rojiblancos in the summer of 2020.

Sarabia has scored 42 goals across his three seasons with the Andalusian club.
