Tottenham offer Christian Eriksen to Real Madrid

Tottenham have directly called Real Madrid to offer them the signing of playmaker Christian Eriksen, according to a report in Marca.

The report outlines how Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has made contact with Madrid general manager José Ángel Sánchez this week to discuss the possibility of a deal.

It is claimed that Los Blancos were interested in the player last summer but the valuation of €150m meant their interest was discontinued, but now Eriksen is said to be priced at €70m.

Madrid and Barcelona have both been heavily linked with a move for the Denmark playmaker, whose contract at Spurs expires in the summer of 2020.

It is said that Spurs supremo Daniel Levy may allow the club to cash-in on the midfielder this summer, to provide funds for squad reinvestment.

A report in Diario AS last month claimed that there was a ‘verbal agreement’ between the former Ajax playmaker and Madrid.

The Spanish giants are said to prefer the signing of Paul Pogba or Donny van de Beek but the option of Eriksen remains on the table as an alternative.
