Marcos Llorente ‘had no hesitations’ in switching Real Madrid for Atletico Madrid: “Simeone and the club’s project gave me confidence.”
The 24-year-old moved across the Spanish capital in a €40m deal earlier this month and is expected to replace Rodri in Atleti’s midfield.
“I was clear that I wanted to come to an ambitious project and a place where they would trust me and give me confidence, here I have both,” Llorente told reporters, as cited by Marca.
“Diego Simeone? There is little can I say that you do not know, he is a Coach with a winning character and an enormous ability to transmit to his players.
“I am happy to be at his service, both his character and the club project attracted me a lot and I did not hesitate to come.
“Moving across the city? I take it naturally, I know it's unusual that this has happened, but it was the best thing for me and I am delighted and very happy to be here.
“I come with all my work and commitment to help the team in whatever they need and fight together for this shirt.”
