Real Madrid to miss out on Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele

Real Madrid appear set to miss out on Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele with reports he will join Tottenham in a €62m deal.

The Frenchman has starred for the French giants since joining from Amiens in 2017 with his fine form recognised by his first full international caps for the France national team.

Previous reports suggested the midfielder is top of Zidane’s wanted list despite suggestions that the player was favoured to go to an English club, which now looks set to be Spurs.

“He is looking for a way out, he is  wanted by the biggest clubs, there is nothing, but if he leaves, we already have several players in mind,” Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is cited as saying by Diario AS.

This season, the 22-year-old has represented Lyon in 34 matches in Ligue 1 and eight in the Champions League while he had also been linked to Manchester City, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

Madrid had already done business with Lyon this summer with the signing of full-back Ferland Mendy in a €55m deal.
