Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti has appeared to commit his future to the club after an injury ravaged campaign.
The France international missed five months of last season with a knee injury but is widely regarded as one of the finest defenders in world football.
Now he appears to have quelled speculation that he could leave the Camp Nou, despite facing competition in his position with Clement Lenglet and Gerard Pique.
“I had never dreamed of anything better than playing and living in Barcelona,” Umtiti is cited as saying by Marca.
“The quality of life is superior, for me, it is the best place to play and live in, everything here is perfect - the mentality, my team, my colleagues…everything.
“I feel really happy to be able to live my passion and to do it here in Barcelona.
“My injury? I feel better now and that I can prepare for the new season at 200 percent.
“My character? On the pitch I am a pretty rough and cold defender, but then in my daily life I like to laugh and make jokes all day!”
