Pepe Reina prefers Milan stay to Juventus

Goalkeeper Pepe Reina would prefer to stay at Milan ahead of a rumoured move to fellow Italian giants Juventus, report Diario AS.

Reina played under new Juve boss Maurizio Sarri for three seasons at Napoli before joining Milan last summer, but the Chelsea boss is being heavily tipped to join Juve.

The 36-year-old goalkeeper only started two Serie A matches last campaign and is an understudy to club and Italy number one Gianluigi Donnarumma, but is said to just want a club where he will be a regular.

“I don’t know if Sarri will go to Juventus,” the Spaniard’s dad told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“He’s proven to be among the best Coaches in the world at Napoli and after winning at Chelsea.

“Juve are the most successful club in Italy and he’s a professional. He would have no problems going there.”

Reina began his career at Barcelona before moving to Villarreal, but his most memorable stint was across a nine-year spell at Liverpool between 2005 and 2014.

He has since played for Bayern Munich and Napoli before his move to the Milanese giants last summer.
