Premier League pair want Junior Firpo

Real Betis defender Junior Firpo is on the radar of both Manchester United and Liverpool ahead of the 2019-20 season.

The Spanish U21 international has impressed at left back in the past 18 months, after coming through the youth ranks at the Estadio Benito Villamarin, and he has caught the eye across Europe.

Jurgen Klopp's side are reported to be long term admirers of the 22-year old, with La Liga champions FC Barcelona also reported to be keen on him as a long term replacement for Jordi Alba.

Both clubs, and now Manchester United – according to a report in Marca – would have no issue in paying his €50m release clause, with Real Betis open to letting him go, provided the full clause is paid.

The Premier League transfer window closes on August 8, meaning any move would have to be completed in the coming weeks, with Ernesto Valverde's side afforded more time in their negotiations.
