Barcelona have signed NAC Breda defender Mike van Beijnen, who is the son of Ali Dursun – the agent of Frenkie de Jong.
Marca outline how the 20-year-old who has played for NAC Breda, PSV Eindhoven and Willem II, had a family link to the Catalan giants before this move.
De Jong will also move to the Camp Nou this summer after the club fought off fierce competition to land the Ajax midfielder in a deal worth up to €85m, with Dursun playing a leading role.
Indeed, van Beijnen played alongside de Jong in Willem II's youth teams but he is thought to be signed primarily for Barca’s B team for next season, who play in Spain’s third tier.
Van Beijnen signed a two-year deal at the Catalan club and was pictured alongside Silvio Elias, the Barca manager, and Pep Segura, who is involved in the sporting direction of the club.
