Rodrgyo Goes will find Real Madrid start difficult – Jorge Sampaoli

Rodrygo Goes is going to initially find life tough at Real Madrid according to Jorge Sampaoli, the boss of his current club Santos.

The 18-year-old has starred with Santos in his native Brazil but is due to join Madrid this summer after the two club’s struck a €45m deal in 2018.

“Rodrygo is going to one of the best teams in the world at a very young age, there will be a very big contrast for him,” Sampaoli explained, as cited by Marca.

“When he arrives at Real Madrid he will share a dressing room with players who are very well established and who are figures in Europe.

“He will need to be extremely prepared; the start will be very difficult for him because he is very young and this huge leap that has happened in his life and his career as a player will have to have the same expectations of performance.

“In Spain there is a lot of collective play and here in Brazil this type of players tend to be much more individualistic.

“In Brazil, the players are so absolute and so decisive that they tend to end up being too individual.”
