Napoli lower asking price for Atletico Madrid target Elseid Hysaj

Serie A side Napoli have lowered their asking price for defender Elsied Hysaj, who is a target for Atletico Madrid.

According to a report in Italian newspaper Carreriro dello Sport, the Albanian international, who has a release clause of €50m, could be available for €25m, as Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti looks to generate funds for other moves.

The report states that Diego Simeone has been interested in signing the 25-year old right back for over 12 months, with a bid rejected at the start of the 2018-19 campaign.

However, Atletico's need for cover at full back increased significantly since the end of the season, with Lucas Hernandez moving onto Bayern Munich, and Juanfran and Filipe Luis both leaving on free transfers.

Napoli have already been linked with a replacement for Hysaj, who has been at the club for four seasons, with a bid for Tottenham full back Kieran Trippier widely expected.
