Atletico Madrid are considering at making a big money bid for Real Betis midfielder Sergio Canales.
According to reports on Spanish radio station COPE, Diego Simeone is looking at the 28-year old as he looks to boost his midfield options ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
Real Betis are likely to demand that Los Rojiblancos pay Canales' full release clause of €40m for the Spanish international, which Atletico will be happy to do as they look to restructure their squad.
Defender Felipe Monteiro has already arrived at the Wanda Metropolitano from Porto in a €20m deal, with team mates Hector Herrera and Alex Telles also likely to swap Portugal for the Spanish capital.
Canales has enjoyed an excellent debut campaign for the Andalusian side, after joining from Real Sociedad in €3.5m deal at the start of 2018-19, making 26 La Liga appearances and scoring six goals.
