Eden Hazard’s Real Madrid move is NINTH most expensive transfer in history

Eden Hazard's log awaited move to Real Madrid was completed on June 7, with Chelsea accepting a fee of €100m.

The Belgian has signed a five year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu, as Zinedine Zidane takes his summer transfer spending over the €200m mark, following the arrivals of Rodrygo, Eder Militao and Luka Jovic.

Hazard has also joined an exclusive club of transfers, as the NINTH most expensive deal in football history, and the second highest in the history of Real Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo's €96m record move from Manchester United in 2009 stood for four years, before Los Blancos spent €101 on Welsh international Gareth Bale, who just edged Hazard in top spot.

La Liga dominates the biggest deals in history, with Neymar's 2017 €222m move from FC Barcelona to Ligue 1 side Paris Saint Germain still the highest fee paid, with Philippe Coutinho's €122m move to the Nou Camp from Liverpool coming in third place.
