Alberto Moreno wants Sevilla return after Liverpool exit

Alberto Moreno has confirmed he would like to return to Sevilla after five years following the expiration of his contract at Liverpool.

The 26-year-old left the Andalusian club to move to Merseyside in the summer of 2014 in a €14m (£12m) deal, but his contract at Anfield expired this summer.

“It would be nice to return home and enjoy the fans again,” Moreno told ABC de Sevilla, as cited by Marca.

“Life is to live. There is no other way you can make plans but this kind of thing (the death of former Sevilla teammate Jose Antonio Reyes) makes you think.

“I've lived in Liverpool for five years and I'm looking forward to a new adventure, but my friends are asking me where, but I do not know yet. My agent, Javier Moya, is dealing with these issues.

“New Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui? I like him a lot, although the year we won the European Under-21 we had a lot of good players, he was the soul of everything and how that team played with the ball.”

Moreno made just two Premier League appearances last campaign despite steering clear of injury, with Andrew Robertson firmly established as the club’s number one left-back.

Sergio Escudero has become the regular left-back at Sevilla, for whom Moreno helped to the 2014 Europa League title.
