Real Madrid agree €100m fee for Chelsea star Eden Hazard

Real Madrid have agreed a €100m (£88.5m) fee plus add-ons for Chelsea star Eden Hazard, according to a report in The Guardian.

The Belgian playmaker is set to be the third arrival at Madrid this summer following FC Porto defender Eder Militao and Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic.

A report in Diario AS this week claimed that Madrid’s general director José Ángel Sánchez is meeting with Chelsea’s main transfer negotiator Marina Granovskaia in London.

Hazard, 28, has been heavily linked with a move to the outgoing European champions with reports that he is currently house-hunting in the Spanish capital.

Marca have previously reported on a near ‘total agreement’ between all parties with the player to sign a six-year deal at Los Blancos.

Hazard has spent a successful seven years at Stamford Bridge, winning the Premier League twice, one FA Cup and two Europa League titles, since a 2012 move from Lille.

"Yes, I think this is goodbye, it's time for a new challenge," Hazard told BT Sport after last week’s Europa League final, while Madrid president Florentino Perez told an interview on Onda Cero: “I have a feeling that Eden Hazard will be coming this year.

“I am very interested in him coming to Real Madrid and I am very hopeful he will come in. He is one of the greats of the world of football.

“How are we going to talk to a club that is playing a final (the Europa League), we have been trying for several years that Hazard is a Madrid player but we have not yet achieved it.”
