Jose Bordalas to sign three-year Getafe contract

Getafe are set to agree a three-year contract with in-demand Coach Jose Bordalas in what would be a landmark move by the club, report Cadena Cope.

Bordalas guided the minnows to a fifth-place finish in La Liga, narrowly missing out on a Champions League spot, and was named UEFA.com Coach of the season for the league.

Bordalas guided Alaves to promotion in 2016 but was subsequently dismissed and repeated the feat with Getafe, before continuing his progress at the Madrid-based club over the following two campaigns.

The Coach has been linked with the vacant managerial roles at Real Betis and Sevilla, but it now appears certain he will stay at Los Azulones.

“There is no reason to think anything other than I’ll continue here,” Bordalas responded, as cited by Marca earlier this month, when asked about his future.

“I have to keep repeating myself, but I have a contract with Getafe and I want to continue with Getafe.

President Martin added, as cited by Cadena Cope: “Our Coach is Bordalas and we are planning together for next season, we have already spoken about potential players and dates for pre-season.”
