Antoine Griezmann ‘signed Barcelona deal in March’

Antoine Griezmann signed documentation to join Barcelona back in March ahead of a July move, report Cadena Ser.

El Mundo Deportivo cite the Spanish radio station as claiming that all forms were signed by the Frenchman, two months before he publicly declared he was leaving Atletico Madrid this summer.

Griezmann’s release clause falls from €200m to €120m in July, and he is now expected to move to the Camp Nou at the start of that month.

The 28-year-old confirmed earlier this month that he was leaving Los Rojiblancos this summer and is now heavily linked with both the Blaugrana and Paris Saint-Germain.

However, a move to the Parisians also appears unlikely due to the financial cost involved in any such deal and their need to cut costs to meet UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations.

There have been suggestions to that the Catalan giants may be deterred from a move due to the costs involved but fresh reports dismiss these concerns.

The radio report claimed to have evidence of the signed documents needed to complete the deal.
