Manchester United ‘favourites’ for Adrien Rabiot, Betis rule out move

Manchester United are favourites to sign Adrien Rabiot from Paris Saint-Germain with Real Betis unable to afford a deal, according to reports.

Both Muchodeporte and Paris United have claimed the Seville-based club are out of the running for the central midfielder as they cannot match his financial demands.

Rabiot is out of contract at the Parisian club this summer and would not command a transfer fee, but his reported wage demands alongside agent fees (the player’s representative is his mother) are said to be excessive.

The 23-year-old has not featured for the first-team in over five months with the club refusing to play him until his situation is resolved, with the player seemingly intent on an exit.

Previous reports have claimed Barcelona attempted to sign the midfielder for €40m last summer but talks broke down and now the midfielder is in exile at the Parisian club.

It is said that Rabiot is demanding an annual wage of €15m – which would make him one of the top earners in world football, with annual costs said to come in at a whopping €20m.

Tottenham, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Arsenal are also said to be keen on the France international.
