Ousmane Dembele’s Barcelona future in question

The future of forward Ousmane Dembele at Barcelona is no longer certain and the club may be open to selling him, according to a report in Marca.

The France international joined the Blaugrana in a deal reportedly worth in the region of €140m in the summer of 2017, but his time has been offset by injury problems since.

The 22-year-old has been limited to just 32 starts in La Liga from a possible 76 matches due to a number of injuries, while he has also reportedly been the subject of disciplinary issues.

Thigh and hamstring injuries are the most pressing issue for the former Borussia Dortmund forward, who the report claims no longer ‘is untouchable’ at the Camp Nou.

His lack of reliability in terms of both fitness and discipline means that the club could be willing to cash-in on him this summer, especially if a buyer is not found for Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho has struggled badly for form since his €160m switch from Liverpool in January 2018 and has been heavily linked with an exit from the club.
