Zinedine Zidane: Kylian Mbappe? He is fine at PSG…

Real Madrid Coach Zinedine Zidane has cooled his side’s links to Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe: “He is fine where he is.”

The 20-year-old striking sensation scooped the Ligue 1 player of the year award on Sunday and hinted that he could be open to a move to another club, with Madrid strongly linked.

“He is fine where he is,” Zidane told reporters following a charity match in Bordeaux, when questioned over the striker’s future, as cited by Marca.

Mbappe told reporters following Zidane’s return to the Madrid dugout in March: “If Zizou is back, I will watch their games because I admire him.

“I am here in Paris and invested in this project.”

A sensational report from France Football in March claimed Madrid president Florentino Perez had given his personal approval for the move and will lay the groundwork for a deal €280m move.

The 20-year-old has been elevated into one of world football’s most sought-after stars following a €170m switch to the Parisians from Monaco in the summer of 2017.

Madrid have been heavily linked with a summer bid for the former Monaco player, with significant investment in the squad expected during the close season.
