De Ligt: I will decide my future after the Nations League

Ajax defender Matthijs De Ligt has indicated that he will make a decision on his club future after the UEFA Nations League.

The 19-year old has been selected for the Netherlands squad as Ronald Koeman's side face England in the inaugural semi final of the competition next month.

He has been widely linked with a move away from Ajax this summer, with Manchester United, FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich amongst the clubs interested in signing him.

"Obviously the English Premier League is a big competition, and so is La Liga in Spain, he told ESPN.

"But there are other competitions, not just those two.

"At the moment, I still do not know about my future, I will wait and see.

"First we have two very important games with the national side and after that I will see what happens next."

De Ligt has captained the Dutch side to the Eredivise title in 2018-19, as well as reaching the Champions League semi finals, but he is almost certain to move on before the start of the 2019-20 campaign.
