Spurs striker Fernando Llorente on Barcelona shortlist

Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente is on Barcelona’s shortlist for a new striker this summer, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

The 34-year-old has netted eight goals and provided five assists in just 1,238 minutes of action this season and these figures are behind the Blaugrana’s interest.

Ernesto Valverde also coached the experienced striker during their spell together in Athletic Club Bilbao and he is out of contract this summer, meaning he would not cost a transfer fee.

The former Sevilla and Juventus striker netted 118 goals between 2004 and 2012 at Athletic but until a recent injury to Harry Kane, he has struggled for gametime.

There are three other strikers which the report cites are garnering interest from the Catalan giants, including Girona striker Cristhian Stuani.

The former Middlesbrough striker has netted a remarkable 40 goals across two seasons in La Liga but was unable to prevent relegation this campaign – reportedly halving his transfer valuation from €20m to €10m.

Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez and Sevilla hitman Wissam Ben Yedder are also said to be on the shortlist at the Camp Nou.
