Sevilla, Real Betis derby for Barcelona’s Marc Cucurella

Real Betis and Sevilla will go head-to-head to sign full-back Marc Cucurella from Barcelona on a permanent basis, report Diario Sport.

It is claimed that Eibar – where the player is currently on loan – will sign the left-sided Spaniard permanently for €2m from the Blaugrana, who will subsequently buy him back for €4m.

In a convoluted operation, the left-back – who has also been linked to both Milan and Borussia Dortmund – will then be made available for a permanent sale for €10m.

Eibar have a €2m option to purchase the 20-year-old permanently at the end of the season but Barca will instead come to a mutual agreement which will see the Basque club receive a €2m profit instead.

The full-back has made 33 first-team appearances at Ipurua this season and has shown a lot of potential, to attract scouts from several leading European clubs.

The report claims the player’s future is very much up in the air at this point, with Barca leaning towards selling the player permanently despite his promise due to their need to raise funds.

Cucurella is also a Spain youth international, having represented his country between Under-16 and Under-20 levels.
