Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic apologises for photograph

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has apologised after being photographed at Seville’s Feria de Abril after his club’s Champions League exit.

Photos emerged of the Croatian international enjoying the festivities in the Andalusian city – where he previously lived and where some of his family are still based – after the Blaugrana’s humiliation against Liverpool last week.

“I have no problem asking for forgiveness, but I am very open and I am a father and husband and the family is the most important thing,” Rakitic has said, as cited by Marca.

“I went to Seville to be with my family, with my girls and it is important to have this balance.

“When someone asks me for a picture or wants to talk to me, I never say no, I accept the opinions, but I live football 100%, I'm responsible, I only want the best for my teammates and me.

“For me, to be part of the best club in the world is a great pride and I want to do it for many more years.”
