Maurizio Sarri: Keeping Hazard will not be easy

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has conceded that he faces a real battle to keep talisman Eden Hazard at the club this summer.

Hazard has been widely linked with a move to Real Madrid before the start of the 2019-20 campaign and the former Napoli boss has conceded he has no idea what will happen in the coming weeks.

"I do not know what happens next.

"I don't know if Hazard is thinking that his time here is finished and his mind is made up.

"I want him to stay at the club, but it is not easy as I want him to be fully motivated here.

"i speak to him as a father, not as a manger, but those conversations remain private"

Hazard has a year left to run on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, and with Chelsea's impending transfer ban they will be unable to sign a replacement if he leaves this summer – however their deal for Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic has been approved by FIFA.

If Hazard does head for the exit then his last game for the club will be the Europa League final against Arsenal.
