Marca: Benfica keen on Jasper Cillessen

Benfica are considering a summer move for Barcelona goal keeper Jasper Cillessen this summer, according to reports in Spain and Portugal.

A report in Marca this morning states that a source close to the Primeira Liga side believes they will go for the Dutch international as soon as the season ends.

Cillessen has been second choice to Marc Ter Stegen at the Camp Nou this season, making just seven appearances under Ernesto Valverde, all of them coming in either the Champions League or the Copa del Rey.

After previously stating that he wanted to remain with the club for another season, the former Ajax man has since claimed that he wants to move on this summer and play first team football.

Reports in both his native Netherlands and in Portugal, are also claiming that Porto are also in the running to sign him, along with sides in Serie A and the Premier League.

Barcelona are happy for Cillessen to move on after three years as second choice to German international Ter Stegen, with Inaki Pena set to step up as second choice for the 2019-20 campaign.
