Boca Juniors want Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega

Boca Juniors are confident of securing a summer deal for Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega, according to a report in Marca.

The report claims the Argentine giants are ready ‘to make a big push’ for the talented midfielder, who is out of contract at Los Rojiblancos in a year’s time.

“He is a player who knows the club and it would be a leap in quality if we could sign him,” Boca Juniors president Daniel Angelici is cited as saying.

“We have a very strong and direct relationship with Sevilla.”

The 29-year-old became a key component across the following two campaigns at Sevilla, helping them to a further two European titles before departing for Inter in 2016.

Banega returned to the Andalusian club in the summer of 2017 following an unsuccessful season in Italy and has once again become a fundamental part of their first team.

The Rosario-native has made 51 first team appearances for the Andalusian club this campaign but he will celebrate his 31st birthday in June, so a move may come to fruition.
