Nacho Fernandez considers Real Madrid exit

Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez is seriously considering leaving the club this summer, according to a report in Marca.

Back in March, the long-serving Spaniard was linked with a move to Italian club Roma and could now be edging towards a move away.

The versatile defender had been heavily linked with a move to the Giallorossi last summer, but no transfer came to fruition, and sporting director Monchi has since left the Italian capital club.

The 29-year-old has made a total of 188 first-team appearances for Los Blancos, where he played for the entirety of his career, netting a total of nine goals.

Madrid splashed out €50m to bring in defender Eder Militao from FC Porto for this summer, leading to doubts on Nacho’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The defender’s contract at the European champions expires in the summer of 2020 and the club could look to cash in this year.

Madrid are set to undergo an overhaul in their playing staff this summer after a hugely underwhelming campaign.
