Lucas Vazquez: My future is not yet certain

Lucas Vazquez is still not sure if he will be a Real Madrid player next season, with boss Zinedine Zidane set to make changes to his squad this summer.

Vazquez has been a regular for Los Blancos this season, despite three changes in manager at the club, making 45 appearances in all competitions, including 29 in La Liga – with only Raphael Varane, Karim Benzema and Luka Modric making more.

The Spanish international was a favourite of Zidane's during his first spell as manager at the club, but the midfielder stated after their 3-2 home win against Villarreal, that he is still uncertain about his future.

"My future has not yet been spoken about.

"Do I want to stay? Yes, I do.

"I have a contract here and I want to stay as I am a Real Madrid fan.

"But at the moment, I do not know what will happen."

Vazquez is under contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2021, however Zidane could be open to offers for the former Espanyol man if it can fund his other transfer targets over the summer months.
