Fredi Bobic: There is no Luka Jovic deal with Real Madrid

Eintracht Frankfurt Sporting Director Fredi Bobic has moved to dismiss speculation that the club has a deal in place with Real Madrid over the transfer of Luka Jovic.

The 21-year old Serbian international has been heavily linked with a move to La Liga – with both Real Madrid and Barcelona reported to be interested in him signing him this summer.

However, despite his fine form in the Bundesliga, on loan from Benfica, Bobic confirmed that no deal had been reached.

"There has been no contact with Real Madrid, he told ESPN.

"This is not a lie, I know the club very well and there been no contact between us."

Any move for Jovic at the end of the season is set to complicated due to the pre-agreement between parent club Benfica and Eintracht Frankfurt.

As part of his season-long loan move from Portugal, the Bundesliga side have an option to buy him, which there are likely to exercise as soon as the season ends.

However from there on, they are widely reported to be open to negotiating a higher fee before the start of the 2019-20 campaign, to compensate for the role they have played in his development this season.
